Thank you Omura for you encouragement for me to write,so to say that I will not be 'pai seh' if I make mistakes, knowing you can understand. You hv been very kind and also I see your name appears very often in the forum, and that's very good. It's a form of entertainment for me at home when I am free. Thank you also to everyone that contribute to write in this page, so at least we can hv same kind of communication. Now come back to fishing, you are very acknowledgeable and always giving advice. The excitment is exactly what my son told me, but I don't know how to express. Beginning I also don't understand why hv to release it back. You should hv seen his case for carrying the rods. It's so long more than 6ft I think and thank God my car can take it in when you put it right from the front and acrsss the seats straight to the back. Sometimes he hv problems with taxis, which they will normally say, oh, this thing cannot go in.

If u allow ur son 2 take up fishing u must ensure that he learns swimming. These 2 sports must go hand in hand 4 their safety. Don't over look this point. When U fish, follow the tides, otherwise is a waste of time. When the very low tide occurs u hv the time go n see the beach if it contains mud, rock or sand. If it is muddy, when we draw in our fishing line it will go into the mud, so fish that don't scavenge the beach bed will never bite ur bait, making u think there r no fish. Thats one of the reason Y we use a longer leader.

I am still very new with my laptop and I think I hv press the wrong button. Now I cannot see the whole topic but only your reply, and I also don't know whether you are talking to me or cclim. BTW, my son is also a scuba diver. He goes everywhere to dive and take underwater photograhy too, so he can swim very well. Thx for concern.

auntie.. no problemo... pai seh to get you confused... my fault for jumping in without prior address... uncle, my son only 7 years old and I'm getting him to learn swimming now. However, fishing in Putra Marine is quote risky if we go too near the edge.

No problem cclim. Everyone can write and I love to read. Yes, you must let your son learn to swim. My 2 granddaughters (from my daughter) when they were small also know how to swim as taught by their parents, but my son said somehow they must go through proper swimming lessons and not only know how to swim... in case of emegency. So now they are very clever lo. Nice to hear your son likes to swim too. It's a good form of exercise for the body and a healthy water sport. Have fun.

hi omura san, for english, maybe you can try visit the following site. will need registration. www.fishing.net.my/forum/default.aspabout the squid catch, it was not at penang for sure. at penang you can only see some very small size (below 200g) at the shore. i've seen some at Pulau Rimau, Pulau kendi & Pantai Keracut only at penang. me and my fishing buddies went to Pulau Songsong a few weeks back. it was a 3D2N event mainly for squid catch (day) and surf fishing (night). squid weight range from 300g to 1kg. fyi, in bahasa, we sometime call it Sotong Katak. in manadarin, it's called Green Eye. to catch it, we use artificial prawn. those with sharp hooks at their tail. to learn more about this kind of squid, www.scuba-equipment-usa.com/marine/NOV04/Southern_Calamari_Squid(Sepioteuthis_australis).htmlmind if i ask why u using japanese accent? happy fishing!
